Description

Artist-in-Residency

The Atelje Bredgrind studio house is part of the local cultural heritage. Surrounded landscape have been cultivated already at the Viking Time and Vendel Time. There is a famous burial ground from the Vendel and Viking periods where archaeolological finds have been made. The Artist-in-Residency is located in scenic area. Ateljé Bredgrind is surrounded by large waterways, forests and fields. There is a nature reserve and a national park nearby. Artist-in-Residency is located in Avesta Municipality, just 150 km from Stockholm, and 20 km from Avesta city in the countryside in a small village.

The residency consists of a studio house of 80 sqm. On the 1st floor there is a bedroom, kitchen and livingroom. On the 2nd floor there is a studio with 40sqm. The studio house has electricity and WiFi. There is an outdoor shower cabin on the terrace. Water is fetched from a tap on the wall of the main building.

Artist-in-Residency is self directed.

Included:

Access to private studio house. You have the whole house all by your self, 80 sqm. Studio in the 2nd floor and accommodation in the 1st floor.
Opportunity to participate in group exhibition with other Artists-in-Residency artists after your residency.
Staff on site to help in any cases.
Transportation from and to Avesta Krylbo railway station.
Private parking space for one car is available next to the studio house.
The studio house has bicycles and the basic tools for artistic work such as paper, pencils, easels, tripods and WiFi.
Your partner can come with you, at no extra costs.
